Growing up in northern Minnesota and Minneapolis, Franz learned much from his father, a master finish carpenter and a perfectionist in his own right. Franz worked in the computer business for 40 years and attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. He has been an avid woodworker for over 30 years. Franz believes in learning by doing, using a "hands on" approach inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright and Thomas Moser. His beautifully handcrafted lamps are made from combinations of solid cherry, walnut and maple. Each style is available as a floor lamp as well as table lamp.
