The Cherry wood is naturally finished (no stain) with a durable, protective, low sheen catalyzed lacquer. Over time the Cherry will darken and develop a rich patina that brings out the grain of the wood. It is the nature of Cherry wood to contain mineral deposits which create the beautiful swirls of grain which makes this wood so prized. Such mineral deposits will also create occasional dark depressions and indentations. These marks are not defects, but are normal, desired and to be expected in natural cherry.
